Icelandic Water Gels for my poor, irritated undereyes

I admit it. I suffer from dark undereyes. I've tried everything - lasers, fillers, and creams. They are definitely better than they were, but I still feel better about myself using a little concealer.  The only downside is having to remove it before bed. I've tried every make up remover and wipe out there.  Generally my skin is fine, but every once in a while, I just end up with irritated undereyes.

That is exactly what happened today. So I decided to try out the Skyn Iceland  Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels, which I have been saving for the just right occasion. I first saw them on social media (I can appreciate a good under eye gel selfie) and read a lot of good reviews so I was excited to test them out myself.

Here’s the deal. It comes in a package that contains eight, single use pairs of under eye gels. You can find them online for about $30.  They are loaded with ingredients that moisturize, brighten, and firm the skin.  It is based in mineral rich Icelandic glacial water. Glycerin and olive oil hydrate, antioxidants like Gingko and CoQ10 reduce inflammation, and a special peptide is said to improve the appearance of fine lines.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. To my surprise, they actually feel cool when you put them under your eyes (even though I did not store them in the fridge). They stick well and don’t feel slimy at all. Ten minutes later, my inflamed, makeup-free eyes, did feel calmer and less swollen.  I can’t say that after ten minutes any fine lines really looked any better, but that’s OK. (That’s what Botox is for anyway).
